BOURNEMOUTH’S Park Cafes now use environmentally friendly packaging.
The cafes, which include the Woodpecker Café at Queen’s Park and the Squirrel Café in Boscombe Chine Gardens, now have biodegradable cellulose straws, hot drinks cups and lids, wooden drinks stirrers and napkins.
A spokesperson for Bournemouth council said: “We promise to use packaging options that are better for the environment, wherever and whenever we possibly can.
“We aim to compost and re-use as much as possible within Bournemouth's parks, gardens and open spaces.”
Customers will also soon be offered the chance to buy reusable cups for you to buy and receive a hot drink at a reduced price.
