A CO-OP employee has been spreading joy to residents at a Bournemouth care home.

Julian Clarke, who works for the Co-op distribution centre, has been delivering spare bunches of flowers to residents and team members at the Sunrise care home in Belle Vue Road, Southbourne.

Julian visits the home most Fridays to drop off a variety of bunches of flowers including tulips, roses and carnations, that haven’t made it to the shops.

However, the mixed bunches of flowers are a particular hit and Julian now knows many of the residents by name and has even started to remember their favourite flowers.

Tony Hill, general manager of Sunrise of Southbourne, said: “We must say a huge thank you to Julian Clarke whose thoughtful weekly visits bring so much joy to our residents and deserving team members. Thank you also to Julian’s boss Graeme and the Co-op for supporting the kind gesture – we love seeing Julian each week.

“We all very much look forward to these visits and greatly enjoy the beautiful flowers which we proudly display around our community.”
