A FOOD and music festival that attracted thousands of people last year is set to return this summer.

The second Littledown Food and Music Festival takes place between 11am and 5pm on Sunday, June 24.

Last year’s event attracted more than 4,500 people and organisers BH Live say this summer’s event will be “bigger and better”.

Food lovers will be able to sample a range of delights in Street Food Corner including Vietnamese, Turkish, Indian, Mexican, Chinese, North American cuisine.

While those with a sweet tooth will be drawn to crepes, waffles, shakes and handmade fudge.

There will even be the chance to try nettle cordial alongside other foods from different eras.

Locally brewed cider and ale will also be available, while gin fans can pay a visit to the gin bar.

Bands will also be performing throughout the day with acts set to be announced.

Jules the Entertainer will be stilt walking, balloon modelling, showcasing circus skills and providing free magic shows to keep children entertained.

Plus, there will be a bouncy castle, mini fun fair rides, bungee trampolines and free face painting courtesy of Heart FM.

Natalie McMullen, Littledown Sales and Events Officer, said: “We’re really looking forward to showing off our fantastic home-grown musical and culinary talent.

“We’ll have everything from traditional Hog Roast and Wood Fired Pizza to street food, local cheeses, handmade artisan breads, cakes, sauces, preserves and fudge. We’ll have a few arts and craft stalls too, all set up around the Cricket Pitch Stage and Pavilion Bar.”
