AS festive celebrations in Bournemouth begin, Metropole Market has announced that this month’s event will have its own alternative take on traditional Christmas celebrations.
New acts include the unique and award-winning music and comedy group, JunNK. Using items commonly found in a junkyard as their foundation, JunNK combines superb a cappella singing, captivating percussion, innovative musical creations and mesmerising gymnastics to produce a lively and dynamic show.
Outrageously eccentric comedy outfit, The Sweetchunks Band, are also set to bring their own entertaining hybrid of folk, blues, and steampunk.
Also new to the market are South American style musicians Atlantico, Britain’s leading exponents of Cumbia. Cumbia is a genre of rootsy music most closely associated with Columbia and Atlantico are bound to get the public dancing with their pulsing rhythms.
Alongside these exciting new entertainers, several crowd favourites are also returning to the market including internationally renowned performers Street Comedy and quirky ukulele ensemble The Mother Ukers
Open from 10 am to 4 pm, Metropole Market will take place in Holdenhurst Road on Sunday, November 26 and also Sunday, December 17. See metropolemarket.co.uk
