A MAN in his 40s had a lucky escape on Monday afternoon after he became trapped underneath a van he'd been working on.
The man was rushed to hospital from Aylesbury Road in Boscombe after the Ford Fiesta courier van lurched forward as he worked under the bonnet.
Firefighters were called to free him from beneath the vehicle.
It is reported that the van had been left in gear and the casualty started the vehicle as he worked on it.
A spokesperson from Dorset Police said officers were initially called out to a two-vehicle crash shortly after 2.35pm.
"The van moved forward, colliding with an unattended Citroen Synergie and the casualty," the spokesperson said.
"The man was freed by the fire service from beneath the Fiesta. He was taken to Poole Hospital but his injuries are not thought to be serious."
