A MAN has been charged after an alleged attack in Charminster last week.

Police were called to reports of a serious assault in Charminster Road, near the Golden Supermarket, at 5.50am on Friday, April 21.

The alleged victim, a 43-year-old man, had left the scene, but was later admitted to hospital with neck and head injuries.

Detective Inspector Wayne Seymour, of Bournemouth CID, said the complainant had suffered "very serious, potentially life-changing injuries".

A 44-year-old man from Bournemouth has now been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He is due to appear before magistrates in Poole today.
