TWO more popular restaurant chains have revealed they will be opening in Bournemouth's stunning new BH2 development.

The Real Greek and Five Guys are the latest to announce their intention to join the fun in the striking new complex in Bournemouth town centre.

Popular in London, The Real Greek offers lots of little dishes in the form of hot, cold and grilled Meze including falafal, chickpeas, houmous and lamb skewers.

Diners can choose from a huge selection of meats, vegetables and flavours and can indulge themselves with desserts including Baklava and Filo Custard Pie.

The chain currently has nine restaurants in London, one in Windsor and one in Southampton.

Also heading for Bournemouth is Five Guys, a hugely popular burger restaurant offering customers the chance to personalise their burgers.

Five Guys claims there are 250,000 possible topping combinations to choose from and 125 different drinks available from Coca-Cola freestyle machines.

BH2, on the edge of Bournemouth's Lower Gardens, is already hugely popular with the public.

The new 10-screen Odeon cinema is open for business and restaurants TGI Fridays, ASK, Chiquito, Frankie and Benny's and Nandos are already serving customers.

Yet to open their doors are Miller and Carter, Prezzo, the Handmade Burger Company, Coast to Coast, Joe's Kitchen and Las Iguanas.

The humble burger has enjoyed a revival in recent years and this is reflected in Bournemouth's newest development.

No longer just the preserve of fast food joints, good old burgers are the main focus in several restaurants in the town.

Outside of BH2, diners are queueing up at 7Bone, Flamers and Smokeys and inside they will soon be top of the bill at the Handmade Burger Company, Five Guys and Coast to Coast.

There's no doubt that burgers have become fashionable in the last few years, a phenomenon explained by food analyst Helena Childe.

She said: "The growth in ‘better burger’ concepts is largely reflective of higher consumer expectations, with ongoing demands for fresh, ‘real’ food. The emergence of new US players such as Smashburger and Five Guys is arguably leveraging this proven demand for ‘better burgers’ in the UK whilst further tapping into consumers’ ongoing demand for fast service concepts."
