THE future of Bournemouth Balloon is still up in the air ahead of a meeting this month to discuss its return.
Stanley Reeves, managing director of operator S&D Leisure, declined to comment when asked by the Daily Echo recently whether the attraction would be reinstated or not.
The tethered balloon was removed last June for repairs to take place.
Since then, Manchester-based S&D Leisure has been negotiating with its insurers to see if they can meet the costs involved in restoring the attraction.
A meeting of the Lower Central Gardens Trust board takes place on Wednesday, January 25, which Mr Reeves is due to attend.
When the board met in October last year, they heard that if discussions over meeting the cost of repairing the balloon were not fruitful, it may not return to the town at all.
