Hundreds of people are set to gather for the third annual ‘Light up the Prom’ tonight.

The event, organised by Bournemouth Hospital Charity and Macmillan Caring Locally, is to pay tribute to people who have died.

The evening will start at 7.30pm and will see Bournemouth prom lit with hundreds of lights followed by a dazzling fireworks display.

There will also be a special performance by the Funky Little Choir.

People who cannot attend are still invited to take part by buying a light for the pier.

Lights cost £5 and are available from the charity office at Royal Bournemouth Hospital or the Macmillan Unit at Christchurch Hospital.

There is also chance to have the name of a lost loved one entered into a ‘Book of Light’ displayed in the Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospital Chapels.
