Bournemouth's new leisure complex is just a few months away from being completed - and these pictures show just how fast work is progressing.

The £50m BH2 complex will include 13 restaurants, shops, a 10-screen Odeon cinema and parking for 175 cars.

It is being built for developer Licet and Legal & General, with a number of tenants already lined up.

Las Iguanas, Joe's Kitchen, Bella Italia, Nando’s, Handmade Burger Co, Coast to Coast and Frankie and Benny’s have already been confirmed.

Other restaurants include TGI Fridays, Prezzo, Ask Italian, Joe's Kitchen and Chiquito.

Some of the restaurants could be opened as early as December once restaurateurs have come in to complete their own "fitting out", from October.

In June, Westbourne resident Sally Wilton’s letter to the Echo described the structure as “making the Imax cinema look like a design by Sir Christopher Wren”.

Her letter prompted a swell of support from residents who were concerned the building could be 'another Imax'.

Bournemouth town centre councillor Bob Chapman said: “We’ve always been a bit sceptical about it and the council did of course try to negotiate the purchase of the site.

“And many years ago under different control it was offered to the council, so we are more or less obliged to accept it, and hope it is successful.

BH2 is due to be unveiled early in 2017.
