UPDATE:  An 11-year-old boy who went missing from Bournemouth has been found safe and well, say police.

Jamie Raggett was reported missing yesterday after not returning to his Nan's house in the Ensbury Park area after school.

Officers issued a photo appeal this morning to appeal for the public's help to find him. He was found safe and well in the Bournemouth area.

Dorset Police would like to thank the public and media for sharing the appeal.

POLICE are appealing for help to find a missing 11-year-old boy from Bournemouth who failed to get the bus home from school.

Jamie Raggett went to school on Wednesday but it is believed that he did not travel home by bus as he normally would and he then failed to return to his nan's home in the Ensbury Park area. He is not believed to have any money or his mobile with him.

Officers have been investigating overnight but Jamie still remains missing this morning and officers are becoming increasingly concerned for him.

He is described as white, approximately five feet tall, of medium build with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a school uniform consisting of black trousers, a blue jumper with the Harewood College emblem on it, a white shirt and a blue coat.

Chief Inspector John Foster of Dorset Police, said: “It is out of character for Jamie to go missing. There is a possibility he may have stayed the night with a friend but we have not been able to find him as part of our searches and enquiries overnight.

“I would urge anyone who might know where Jamie is or has seen a boy matching his description to please call Dorset Police urgently. It may be that you are a parent who has let Jamie stay the night in good faith - if so please make contact.

"Finally, if Jamie sees this message, please call us. Your family are really worried about you and they just want to know you are safe.”

Anyone with any information or knowledge as to where Jamie is should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 18:343.
