WITH just two weeks to go until the Bournemouth Wheels Festival revs into life, organisers have released further details of a host of brand new attractions for 2016.

Tickets are also still available for the festival's first ever Wheels Gala Dinner, which includes BBC Top Gear's original Stig, Perry McCarthy, as guest speaker.

The Two Brothers Motorcycle stunts team, featuring TV and film stunt riders Ashley Mark and Mark Van Driel, are new for this year, the UK's biggest wheels themed family festival.

The Daily Echo backed free event, now in its third year, also includes another first - the 2016 BXUK British Beachcross Championship, an international race series for solo and quad bike teams and riders taking place next to Boscombe Pier.

In another Wheels debut, there will be more motorbike tricks and trials on the beach with displays from the Xtreme Stunt Team.

Bournemouth Borough Council tourism spokesman Cllr Lawrence Williams, said: "It is exciting to see such a wide range of new attractions for Wheels 2016.

"The festival is well established in Bournemouth’s event calendar and it is wonderful that it continues to evolve and appeal to new participants and performers, many of whom are well respected in both the motor and entertainment industries."

Another first for 2016 is the chance to ride the big wheel at the Triangle, which at 42-metres high gives a birds eye view of Bournemouth.

Paul Clarke, Chairman of title sponsor Coastal BID, said: “Representing over 750 businesses along our spectacular beachfront, the Coastal BID is proud to be part of the UK's biggest free wheels event in the South of England and to be hosting the first ever Wheels Gala Dinner in Bournemouth, welcoming BBC Top Gear's original Stig, Perry McCarthy, as guest speaker on the night. I am also delighted that the Coastal BID will be sponsoring the Monster Truck Arena throughout the weekend, as well as bringing supercar displays, performances from stunt teams and live music into Southbourne."

The Wheels Festival 2016 takes place June 3-5.
