A SELF-made millionaire, business mentor and motivational speaker will be the guest speaker for an event organised by a Poole-based hospice.

Sue Stone, who featured in the Channel 4 series, The Secret Millionaire, will be sharing the secrets of her success at Lewis-Manning Hospice's Ladies' Afternoon Tea event at The Sandbanks Hotel on March 11 to mark International Women's Day.

The star of the DVD entitled, Unlock Your Inner Millionaire, hit rock bottom in 1999 when she was left in £250,000 worth of debt following the breakdown of her marriage, with three young children to look after. Sue turned her life around after she was left with £10 in her purse and was forced to discover new ways to improve her life, which she now passes on to help others. Her client base spans from everyday people to celebrities and city high-fliers.

She said: "I’m humbled to be invited to speak at this fantastic Lewis-Manning fund raising afternoon and my goal is to help people create the greatest and most exciting version of themselves and their business."

Tickets for the event cost £25 per person, which includes a traditional afternoon tea and hot drinks, with this year's theme being Make a Pledge for Parity, which will also feature a raffle and auction. Thousands of events take place across the globe to inspire ladies on International Women’s Day and their celebrate their achievements.

Rachel Lapworth, Director of Development at Lewis-Manning, said: "I never cease to be amazed by the power of women in our community. This is a chance to celebrate their achievements and encourage other women to be the best they can be, no matter what their circumstances."
