FIERCE November winds aren't the ideal weather conditions to strip off down to swimming trunks.

But when Speedo Clive met Speedo Mick at AFC Bournemouth's game against Everton on Saturday, the weather didn't matter.

Cherries fan Clive Allen joined forces with Everton fan and charity fundraiser Mick Cullen - or Speedo Mick as he's come to be known - when the Merseyside club played AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Speedo Mick hit the headlines after appearing in hundreds of selfies, as well as having a starring role on Sky Sports at one of Everton's games.

The 50-year-old Everton fan started his fundraising effort last summer after completing a cross-Channel charity swim.

And thanks to the recently formed dynamic partnership between the pair, more than £16,000 has been raised for Liverpool's Woodlands Hospice.

Clive, inspired by Mick's idea, has been collecting before home and away games, with the duo raising £2,000 at yesterday's game alone.

Speaking after Saturday's dramatic match, Clive said: "I managed not to get pneumonia, but even Mick said it was the chilliest one he's done.

"The wind was so cold. But it was tremendous.

"After the game we went back to the Queens Park pub, and although we don't usually let away supporters in, we relaxed the rules a little bit, Fletch (Steve Fletcher) came in and we all had such a good time.

"After their pitch invasion, when we equalised, I had my flip flops off as well.

"There was no trouble at all. Everyone was very good-natured.

"In Swansea, we went to one of their social clubs, with me in the Speedos, and it diffuses any issues - we even got invited back afterwards."

Clive added: "I can't stop now. I'll be going to select away games and in March hope to start raising money for a local charity.

"While Mick had to swim the Channel to start his fundraising, I've got away lightly, I've not even been in the shower.

"Everyone who has supported me - all the AFCB supporters - have been magnificent."
