POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was knocked unconscious and left with a broken jaw following an assault in Bournemouth town centre.
The attack was called into the emergency services at around 3.20am on Sunday, November 22 with reports of the incident along Old Christchurch Road close to Gervis Place.
Detectives believe that a group of men and women were involved in the assault, which saw the victim, an 18-year old man, taken to Poole Hospital for treatment for his injuries.
Detective Constable Ian Allen, of Bournemouth CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the attack to contact me urgently on 101.
"I would particularly like to hear from a group of men and women who are thought to have been in the area at the time of the incident."
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 22:65 or call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
