A YOUNG child from Bournemouth has been airlifted to hospital after paramedics were called to her nursery.
The girl was taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital just after midday.
Two paramedics were also sent to assist at Park View nursery – associated with the Kinson and West Howe Children’s Centre.
The circumstances surrounding the young girl’s condition are unknown at this stage.
A spokesman for the South Western Ambulance Service Trust said: “We were called at 11.31am for a medical emergency at a private address at Moore Avenue. Ground and air ambulances attended and a female patient was taken to Southampton Hospital.”
A spokesman for Dorset Police said police were called at 11.52am to assist with the landing of the air ambulance at a sports ground in Moore Avenue. They were stood down at 12.13pm.
The children’s centre is run in partnership by The Children’s Society and Bournemouth Borough Council.
A spokesperson for the Children's Society said: "A young child is still in hospital. We understand it's a medical condition and [the child] is undergoing tests to establish the nature of the condition."
A Bournemouth Borough Council spokesman said they were unable to confirm any details relating to the incident.
