THE Daily Echo is giving one lucky person the chance to be a 'newshound for the day' as part of Wave 105's Cash for Kids charity auction.

Donated by editor Andy Martin, listeners can bid to spend the day working alongside reporters in line with the 2015 auction which is now in its sixth year.

Other lots include an antique hand-built Villiers 98cc motorbike with a 1949 frame, donated by Serendipity Bournemouth, as well as sitting in on Wave 105 Steve Power’s breakfast show followed by breakfast with the popular host himself.

There's also a one night’s stay for two at the FJB group’s Harbour Heights Hotel, Sandbanks, with breakfast and a three course meal up for grabs, and a special edition print from this year’s Bournemouth Air Festival, donated by Think Aero Bournemouth.

Wave 105 Cash for Kids charity manager, Gloria Hill, said: “The charity auction is a key event in our diary every year. In 2014 our listeners, bidders and supporters helped to raise more than £35,000 through the auction, so we’re hoping this year will be even better.

“Local businesses and organisations are continuing to be extremely generous and prizes are coming in on a daily basis. There is something on offer for everyone, and in previous years we’ve found the auction to be a great way for people to start their Christmas shopping – by doing this they’re also raising money for an extremely worthwhile cause.”

The Cash for Kids team will be taking bids through wave105.com/pages/wave-105-charity-auction-2015 and via text bids. The final bids will be confirmed each hour live on-air on Thursday (October 8). Items less than £250 will close on the radio station’s website 7pm the same day.
