A RUN-down chicken shed is to be transformed into two family homes.
Developers at Ken Parke Planning and Elcock Associates Chartered Surveyors and Architectural Designers have been given the green light to turn the shed in St Leonards into new homes.
A spokesperson for Ken Parke Planning said: “The proposals involved the conversion of a semi-derelict former chicken shed to residential use.
"This was a rather complex matter because the building did not appear to the council to be suitable for conversion within the permitted development rights.
"We put together a very detailed argument taking into account recent appeal decisions, case law and guidance to demonstrate that the structure of the building was sufficiently robust and capable of conversion.
"The successful outcome was the result of a good team effort.
"For me the best bit is providing a life-changing opportunity for my clients to create a quality residence out of what was a derelict building.”
