PLUCKY singer Jenny Oag had a dream come true when she sang a duet with American actress and singer Idina Menzel.

The 26-year-old mother from West Moors had been sat in the audience watching her idol at the BIC last week, when she left her seat and joined Idina in an unplanned rendition of Take Me Or Leave Me.

“Being a fan, I knew that Idina would walk amongst the audience during that song, so I took a risk and approached her. I was six rows back and I’m sure people around me must have thought ‘what’s going on?’” says Jenny.

The voice behind Frozen's Elsa the Snow Queen was also taken by surprise.

“Idina said to me “What are you doing?” and “how can I reward this behaviour, it’s either very rude or very passionate?” added Jenny.

The pair then sung different parts of the song. The surprises continued as Idina was clearly impressed with Jenny’s strong singing voice and knowledge of her lyrics.

Many audience members filmed the encounter and it’s since had hundreds of views on YouTube.

“When I watch it back now, I can’t believe it’s really me. I’m so happy I did it; I met my role model and admit it’s given me a huge boost of confidence. If you don’t take the risk you never know.”

Jenny, a professional singer who regularly performs at Bournemouth’s Cottonwood Boutique Hotel, has previously auditioned for the X Factor.

“A few people stopped me after the show to ask my name. Idina also said on stage afterwards how brave it was of me.

“Idina started as a wedding singer and is such an inspiration to me. She’s carefree and not afraid to make mistakes.”

Last year, Jenny’s mother died of ovarian cancer. On Sunday afternoon Jenny has organised the event Overall Talent for Ovarian Cancer, which will take place at the Cottonwood Boutique Hotel in aid of charity.
