AFTER reaction from across the globe celebrating Cherries’ promotion to the Premier League on Monday, perhaps the pundits thought it couldn’t or wouldn’t get any better.

But headlines celebrating AFC Bournemouth as Champions ran across most of the sports pages of the national newspapers today.

On social media, Gary Lineker followed up his praise for Cherries on Monday, tweeting: “Congratulations to AFC Bournemouth, Championship champions. Astonishing achievement.”

Manchester City FC also tweeted: “Congratulations to @afcbournemouth on winning the Championship and promotion to the @premierleague. See you in August!”

Neil Middleditch, Poole Pirates Team Manager also sent congratulations, saying: “@afcbournemouth Huge congratulations to the team management and staff on a tremendous season, hard earned and well deserved.”

Scott Mitchell, the World Darts Champion from Bransgore, said: “What a week for @afcbournemouth. Biggest week for many a year, the players, staff and board room stood up to the challenge, Champions.”

Most of the praise in the nationals was positive, although the Sun’s premonitions for the team’s success in the Premier League, may not go down too well with celebrating Cherries fans.

Here’s what some of those pages look like...
