A TEAM of volunteers are working up proposals to restore and improve Bournemouth’s Grade One listed Civic Church.
It’s estimated that St Peter’s Church in the town centre needs around £2.5million worth of renovation works, with the stonework, organ, heating and lighting all in need of improvement.
But the working group looking to secure the church’s future also has ambitions to expand the church as a hub for literary and music excellence.
Ken Mantock, the chairman of Bournemouth Civic Society and one of the church’s trustees, said they would be looking to submit a bid for Heritage Lottery Funding early next year.
