TRAFFIC delays are expected in Bournemouth this evening due to planned sewerage works in Charminster Road.
The Wessex Water relining work begins this afternoon and is expected to be complete by around 11pm this evening. Traffic will be controlled by stop/go boards and the neighbouring Capstone and Kings Roads will both be closed off.
Yesterday saw heavy traffic around Cemetery Junction due to similar works in Wimborne Road, which left some drivers stuck in stationary queues for an hour.
A Wessex Water spokesman said: “These works are part of a larger scheme to improve the sewerage network at various points around Bournemouth.
“We appreciate the patience of our customers and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
Further ‘patching’ work on the sewerage system in Charminster Road will begin on Thursday and continue until the end of the day on Monday next week.
