CHANGES to legislation under the new Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 will give Poole residents a greater say in the way anti-social behaviour is dealt with in their communities.

The new measures include the ‘community trigger’, which allows victims of persistent anti-social behaviour to request a review of the situation that is affecting them and the issues they have reported.

Any Dorset-based resident, community or business may use the community trigger to request a review, where local authorities, police and other partners will work together to see if anything further can be done to deal with the cause of the complaint.

Borough of Poole has been a lead partner in the project, which has been set up under new legislation that aims to introduce simpler, more effective powers that will provide better protection for victims and communities from anti-social behaviour.
