AN inquest has been opened into the death of a young man whose body was found in a Bournemouth car park.
A pathologist ruled that David Atkinson, 21, had died as a result of a skull fracture resulting from a blunt trauma injury. He had been found dead in the private car park behind the Dalkeith Arcade on Thursday, August 21.
At Bournemouth Coroner’s Court, coroner’s officer Nikki Muller said: “The body of a male was located in the car park outside the rear doors of Lidl in the Dalkeith Arcade.
“He fell off the top of the car park.”
Mr Atkinson, a former student of Winton Boys’ School and Bournemouth and Poole College, lived at the YMCA hostel in Westover Road.
Dorset Coroner Sheriff Payne adjourned the inquest for further enquiries to be made.
