FOR the next two weeks, beer drinkers will be able to enjoy a range of real ales from across the world and British beers, during a 17-day festival at ten pubs in the area.

Five of the international beers are being brewed by women, together with two from the UK.

The Moon in the Square manager Terri Balloni said: “The festival will give people the opportunity to enjoy a superb selection of UK and international beers, many of which have not been served in the pub before.

“Not only are more women drinking beer and ale now but seven of the beers on offer have been brewed by women brewers so I am delighted to showcase their excellent beers in the pub.”

The overseas beers on offer have been sourced from brewers in New Zealand, the USA, Holland, Australia, Belgium and Italy.

They will complement up to 40 beers from across the UK also being served in the pubs during the festival.

The festival will run until Sundaym, November 2 inclusive, with all beers priced from £2.10 to £2.60 a pint.

The participating pubs are: The Moon in the Square in Exeter Road, The Mary Shelly in The Quadrant Centre and The Christopher Creek in Holdenhurst Road, all in Bournemouth, as well as The Sir Percy Florence Shelley in Christchurch Road, Boscombe, The Nightjar in Victoria Road, Ferndown, The Parklands and Heatherlands in Wimborne Road, Winton, The Man in the Wall in West Borough, Wimborne, The Blackwater Stream in Lower Blandford Road, Broadstone, The Lord Wimbourne in Lagland Street and The Quay in The Quay, both in Poole.

The pubs will serve new, seasonal and speciality beers, including those flavoured with ginger, heather and honey, toffee, herbs and spices and cinnamon and nutmeg.

Customers will be able to sample any three of the real ales in special third-of-a-pint glasses for the price of a pint.

Tasting notes on all of the beers will be available in the pub.
