DO you know this man?

Police have appealed for help in tracing tricksters who conned a staff member in a fish and chip shop.

And they believe this man, whose image was captured on CCTV, may be able to help their inquiries.

Officers in Wimborne are investigating an incident which took place in Long Johns Fish and Chips in Leigh Road at 8pm on Tuesday September 9.

They said three men entered the shop and one of them asked for change for various denominations several times in a row. He confused the member of staff into handing over change that was of a greater value then the amount he presented.

Police Constable Ian Curtis, of Wimborne police, said: “I am now able to release a CCTV image of a man I wish to speak with as I believe he can help me with my investigation.

“I would urge the man pictured - and anyone who recognises him - to contact me, in confidence, as soon as possible.

“I would also like to advise all shops and businesses in the area to be vigilant of change scams and to be wary when approached and asked to change any amount of money.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 9:447 or call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
