DOZENS of homes and businesses are without power after a problem with the supply in Tuckton.

Scottish and Southern Electric said the supply was isolated at 2.10pm after a fault was discovered in a link box sited under the pavement on Tuckton Road.

Some businesses put up signs saying they would be closed until Wednesday.

A spokesman said this evening: “At the moment, 54 customers are without power. We are hoping to have power restored by 11pm.

“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this essential work.”

He said the work was essential because a faulty link box could cause more widespread power cuts.
