A BOSCOMBE man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a Townsend man and several other offences.

Ethan Stanley, of Hamilton Road, was not asked to make a plea when he appeared at Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court on Saturday to be formally charged with the attempted murder of 48-year-old Mark Williams.

The charge relates to an alleged incident at a property in Jewell Road just after midnight on Wednesday, which resulted in a man being treated for a pellet wound.

The 24-year-old was also not asked to offer a plea to a charge of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Mr Williams’ son John, between March 15 and 18 on Holdenhurst Road.

He pleaded not guilty to a separate charge of committing affray on March 31 and also pleaded not guilty to possession with intent to supply a controlled drug.

Stanley was remanded in custody and will appear at Winchester Crown Court on Friday, April 25.

In a separate hearing at Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court, 22-year-old John Williams was charged with assault and a section 4a public order offence of attempting to cause alarm or distress.

Williams, of no fixed abode, was remanded in custody and will appear at Bournemouth Magistrates on Tuesday, April 22.

In a separate hearing at Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court, 24-year-old Kane Salmon, of Kimberley Road in Southbourne, was charged with a series of driving offences.

Salmon was charged with failing to stop when asked to do so by a police officer in Somerford Road, dangerous driving, driving without insurance or driving licence and failing to stop after an accident or report that accident.

He was granted bail on condition he does not enter the Townsend Estate or have any contact with any of the other people involved in the investigation.

He will appear again before Bournemouth Magistrates on Tuesday, April 22.
