ANOTHER Bournemouth care home faces the axe if new plans are approved.
A scheme has been lodged with the council to convert the 37-bed Knyveton Hall care home in Knyveton Road into 18 flats, ditching its current usage. The building was originally a hotel.
It is actually the third such scheme on the site, previous bids in 2015 and the following year having been withdrawn and rejected respectively.
In the latter case, planning officers failed the bid after the applicant declined to pay the £381,000 'affordable housing contribution' according to council policy – the development not including any such properties.
The new application makes no mention of affordable housing. Two submitted objections claim that the conversion will exacerbate parking problems in the area.
