LIVE music, activities, refreshments and races are taking place on Boscombe Beach in a bid to get people active.
The Feel Good Festival is organised by YMCA Bournemouth and Dorset Blind Association, who are hosting a range of events such as Zumba, dance fitness, yoga and clubbercise sessions between 11am and 11pm on Saturday.
Lucy Culkin, business development manager at YMCA Bournemouth, said: “We’re all looking forward to a fun-filled day. There are free activities for all the family on the beach from 11am. The idea is that we get everyone out and active to promote health and wellbeing in the community.”
Races take place from 5pm, with medals and goodie bags for all the runners. A kids' fun run is at 5pm with 1K and 2K options and at 9.30pm there are 5K and 10K options for the Bright for Sight Night Run.
Entry fees start from £5 for kids and £12 for adults with all proceeds going to the YMCA Bournemouth and the Dorset Blind Association.
Lucy added: "We’ve tried to organise it so there’s something for everyone. If people want to come down and just enjoy the music, food and sunshine they can, or they can come and do free classes on the beach and for the runners amongst us we have options for kids, adults and groups, it really does promise to be a great day.”
