A MAN has been treated in hospital for a knife wound after an unprovoked attack at his Boscombe home.
The victim, a man in his 40s, suffered a small cut to this thigh after an unknown man entered his Aylesbury Road address and assaulted him with what police believe was a small peeling knife.
Nothing was stolen in the bizarre incident and the victim's condition is not life-threatening.
Detectives describe the offender as a 35-year-old white man, five feet 10 inches, medium build, with long stubble and wearing jeans, dirty Nike trainers and a grey hooded top.
Det Con Amy Burbidge, of Bournemouth CID, said: "This would appear to have been an unprovoked attack and I would urge anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the Aylesbury Road area to please contact police.
"Officers from the local neighbourhood policing team have been carrying out high-visibility patrols in the area to offer reassurance to the community and address any direct concerns."
The attack took place around 7.25pm on Saturday, March 18.
