AWARD-WINNING Dorset based AsOne Theatre Company has been touring libraries and theatres across the county with their latest play, ‘The Fisherman’s Daughter’.
The play, which is suitable for all the family, is a funny and touching story about a girl called Jess who goes on an adventure with a redundant middle aged librarian, Moira, and a one legged seagull called Harold, while waiting for her fisherman father to come home.
But don’t worry if you missed it, because the theatre company is heading to Bournemouth’s Shelley theatre this weekend on Sunday, March 5 at 3pm.
It is the second part of the production, ‘The Fisherman’s Daughter Part I – Sea-monsters & Pirates’ which toured Dorset last Easter but this time there is a new Greek connection.
Jane McKell, artist director of AsOne, said: “The audience is invited to make the sounds of the storm, the waves, the wind, and seagulls; and for each and everyone there is a character to empathise with.”
She added: “Those who have not seen The Fisherman’s Daughter Part I – Sea-monsters & Pirates - need not worry as, although a perfect pairing, these plays can be seen separately, and in any order. They are both beautifully written stand alone plays.”
