VANDALS who damaged artworks in Boscombe have been condemned by a councillor.
Philip Stanley-Watts said the damage to a sculpture of a palm tree outside KFC in Sea Road and other pieces in the vicinity had been a blow for nearby residents and local artists.
“They bent it all out of shape. The work team tried to bend it back but it still looks a bit done in,” he said.
“This is a big thing for some people around here.
“A lot of these sculptures seem a bit tired anyway.”
Cllr Stanley-Watts added: “We are trying to get local businesses together to help maintain them.”
He said he would put the idea forward at the next Boscombe Business Association meeting on February 21.
