TESTS are being carried out on the overground sewerage pipes set up along Boscombe cliffs before they go into use.
Wessex Water installed the temporary pipeline from Boscombe Chine Gardens along the cliffs to Fisherman’s Walk near Montague Road last month, while work is being carried out on the nearby Percy Road.
Tests are being carried out across sections of the pipeline this week in anticipation of it being in use next week.
When the pipeline was first installed, a Wessex Water spokesperson said it would be “vigorously tested” before use and would be regularly inspected.
Measures are also in place to detect any potential leaks.
Work should to repair part of the Bournemouth coastal interceptor sewer should be completed by February before repairs can start on the collapsed sewer in Percy Road, which is due to be closed to traffic until April 2017.
