A TEENAGE boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in the street in Bournemouth.
A local man in his 50s suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital following the incident in Ashley Road, Springbourne just after 6pm on Saturday night.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police were called to the junction of Ashley Road and South Road at 6.12pm and cordons were put in place.
House to house inquiries were carried out and residents were asked if they had seen anyone running or cycling towards the Kings Park off-licence.
Officers remained at the scene all day yesterday, with the cordon stretching to Boscombe Grove Road, which was also closed.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said a 17-year-old boy from Bournemouth was arrested shortly after the incident on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm with intent and attempted murder and is currently helping police with enquiries.
