POLICE are pursuing “all possible means” in their hunt for a cyclist who knocked over a pensioner in Boscombe on Saturday morning.

Officers are believed to be trawling through CCTV footage of the area after a 77-year-old Bournemouth man suffered a broken hip when he was shoved to the ground by a cyclist at the junction of Christchurch Road and Parkwood Road.

Prior to the incident the elderly victim, who required surgery and remains at Poole Hospital, had asked a group of cyclists not to ride on the pavement.

Yesterday a spokesman from Dorset Police said no arrests have yet been made but officers were pursuing “all means possible” to identify the suspect.

He is described as white, wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up and was riding a dark coloured bicycle at the time.

Witnesses and anyone with information about the incident, which took place just after 9am, are asked to call Dorset Police in confidence on 101, quoting incident number 19:119.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, mobile tariffs may apply.
