CCTV images of a suspect have been released by police after a mobile phone was stolen at a Bournemouth arcade.

The victim, a woman in her 20s, was playing a racing car game with her boyfriend at the arcade near the pier at 4pm on Sunday, May 13 when her mobile phone fell from her pocket.

She didn't initially realise the phone, a black OnePlus 5, was missing.

When she discovered the phone had gone, CCTV from the arcade was reviewed. It appeared to show a man noticing the phone was on the ground, picking it up and putting it in his pocket.

PC Steve Lea, of Bournemouth police, said: “This has left the victim very upset as the phone contained photos of sentimental value."

He urged anyone who knows the man in the CCTV to come forward, adding: “I would also appeal directly to the man pictured to do the right thing and come forward.”
