A PENSIONER has denied making a false representation with a view to procuring the burning of human remains.

Ian Culley, of Throop Road in Bournemouth, appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday morning to deny the charge.

Prosecutors allege the 74-year-old formally stated there were no executors or relatives who had not been informed or would express any objection to the proposed cremation of Ilva Glazier on May 10 2017 at the Rice and Tapper Funeral Service in Moordown.

Ms Glazier was the defendant's mother-in-law.

The matter has been listed for a one-day trial at the court on July 10.

Culley is on unconditional bail.

Judge Stephen Climie warned the defendant that he must not commit any offences while on bail, but acknowledged: "I know it's unlikely in your case."
