A TEENAGE boy was robbed at knifepoint during a "distressing ordeal" last week.

The victim, who is 15, was walking in an alleyway between Lane-Side and Longmead in Shaftesbury on Friday when he was attacked.

During the incident, which happened sometime between 4.30pm and 5pm, the boy was put in a headlock by one offender before the second pulled out a knife and demanded money.

The victim handed over £70 in cash and his wallet. He was then punched in the face by the first offender.

Both of the suspects then walked off towards Wincombe Lane.

The victim sustained a cut to his lip.

The first offender is described as being between 17 to 20 years old. He is about five feet seven inches tall with short blond hair. He was wearing a black hooded top, possibly with white writing on it, and dark blue jeans.

The second offender is of a similar age, and around five feet eight inches tall. He has short black hair and was wearing a black hooded top, dark blue jeans and grey trainers.

Detective Sergeant Simon Austin, of Weymouth CID, said: “This was clearly a very distressing ordeal for the victim and I want to assure members of the community that a detailed investigation is being carried out in order to identify those responsible.

“We have been conducting house-to-house enquiries in the area and exploring CCTV opportunities."

He called for anyone with information to come forward.

“There has been an increased police presence in the area and members of the public can approach officers from the local neighbourhood policing team with any concerns," he said.
