A DRUNK driver who was unable to walk unaided and was incomprehensibly slurring his words has been banned from the roads for two years.
Dorset Police's No Excuse team arrested the man on Thursday, January 25, following a call from a concerned member of the public.
When the officers caught up with him, just a few metres from his house, they said he slurred his words so much it was impossible to understand what he was saying.
He was arrested and breath tested, with the lowest result showing 104 - with the legal limit 35.
After being kept in custody to sober up, he was charged with drink driving and appeared in court, where he pleaded guilty to drink driving.
A spokesperson for the team said: "If you suspect someone is drink or drug driving, please phone 999 with direction of travel, vehicle registration number and make and model of the vehicle for us to stop.
"You could save a life."
