A DRINK driver was caught after CCTV operators saw his BMW being driven "erratically" through Bournemouth.
Student Efim Pereira Viriato, of Hurn Road in Ringwood, was pulled over at 2.20am on October 5 in Exeter Road.
The 21-year-old had 42 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35.
Lee Turner, prosecuting at Poole Magistrates' Court, said: "CCTV operators raised concerns about the manner of driving of a black BMW in Old Christchurch Road.
"The car was being driven erratically and at speed."
Viriato admitted a charge of drink driving.
David Hurley, mitigating, said the defendant, who studies software engineering at Southampton Solent, is "very industrious".
"He had two pints and didn't realise he was over the limit," Mr Hurley said.
Magistrates sentenced Viriato to a 12-month driving ban. He was also fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
