POLICE are continuing to hunt for car thieves who broke into a Poole dealership after six of the vehicles were recovered.

As reported in the Daily Echo, cars were stolen from Westover Peugeot in Wallisdown Road on the night of September 30.

Officers initially said seven cars had been stolen from the building. However, it is now known that eight were taken.

A number of other vehicles were also vandalised during the raid.

A spokesperson from Dorset Police said three of the stolen vehicles were found nearby. A further three were discovered in the Alderney area.

Two vehicles are still outstanding - a Peugeot Partner and a Renault Megane.

The full cost to the business is still being assessed.

Bosses at Westover said the workshop services Westover's Renault, Fiat, Peugeot, Hyundai and Dacia showrooms in Wallisdown Road.

Joint managing director Paul Dillon said staff are working to help police with their ongoing inquiries.

“Our teams are doing everything possible to help the police with their investigations, while also taking all possible steps to maintain normal service levels," he added.
