POLICE arrested an alleged drink driver after a car crashed through the middle of a roundabout.

A member of the public called police after the driver of a red Toyota was seen leaving a pub in Christchurch.

While officers were carrying out a search of the area, they received another call that the car had crashed on the Bailey Roundabout.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police’s No Excuse team said: “They managed to completely forget to go around the roundabout.

“The driver was arrested for driving while unfit through drink."

Police ask anyone who suspects someone of drink or drug driving to call 999 with a location, direction of travel, make/model of the vehicle, and its registration number.
