A BURGLAR who cut himself on broken glass was caught due to blood stains he left on a wall.
Emmanuel Olugbemi Olu Oyelumade, 43, received the wound as he broke a glass panel in the front door of a flat in Turbary Park Avenue on Thursday, April 6. He left blood stains on the hallway wall, which detectives later gathered for DNA analysis. He had stolen £40 cash.
Oyelumade, of no fixed abode, was identified and arrested on May 10.
At Bournemouth Crown Court he was sentenced to six months in prison.
Detective Constable Christian Bryant, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Officers have worked hard to secure overwhelming evidence in this case and I hope this sentence sends out a message that burglary offences such as these will not be tolerated.
“A burglary in your home is a very distressing experience and we will do all we can to bring offenders to justice."
