POLICE are hunting thieves who stole a car as its owner delivered parcels in Poole.

They have released CCTV images after two men made off in the BMW 3 Series car, then attempted to withdraw money from a cashpoint using the owner's card, which was inside the vehicle when it was stolen.

The theft took place at 12.30pm on Friday May 5 in Herbert Avenue. Around 50 undelivered parcels were inside the car at the time.

Two men were seen at the cashpoint at Tesco in Wimborne Road around 25 minutes later.

Police Constable Steve Boston, of Bournemouth police, said: "I would urge anyone who recognises these men to please contact Dorset Police. I am also keen to hear from anyone who has seen a black BMW 3 Series, registration C13 KBO, parked up in the area.

"Finally, I would like to remind motorists to ensure they do not leave their vehicles insecure even if they are leaving it for a moment. Please don’t make life easy for thieves."
