POLICE have charged a man following an alleged robbery in Bournemouth.

Perry Wilson, 45, of Bournemouth, has been charged with robbery and possessing a bladed article in a public place at Londis convenience store in Christchurch Road.

The incident is said to have taken place at around 8.45am on Monday, May 1.

It was reported that a member of staff was threatened with a knife and that an offender left the scene with two bottles of spirits.

The member of staff sustained minor injuries to their hand.

Wilson appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on Friday and has been remanded into custody.

He is set to appear before Bournemouth Crown Court judges on Friday, June 2.
