THREE men accused of the murder of businessman Guy Hedger appeared before a judge at Winchester Crown Court this morning.

Jason Baccus, 41, and Scott Keeping, 44, both of Verney Close in West Howe, and Kevin Downton, 40, of Winterborne Stickland near Blandford, spoke only to confirm their names when they appeared via a video link.

The men are accused of murdering Mr Hedger, 61, at his home at Castlewood near St Ives, Ringwood.

Mr Hedger died as a result of gunshot wounds following an incident during the early hours of Sunday, April 30.

Baccus was represented by Leah Dylan, Keeping was represented by Peter Asteris and Downton was represented by Adam Feest.

The men have been remanded in custody and the case adjourned until July 26.

A potential trial date has been set for November 14.

Keeping wore a red t-shirt for the hearing, Baccus had a grey sweatshirt and Downton wore a mauve sweatshirt.

The three defendants are being held at Winchester Prison.

Judge Cutler said: "I will remand each of you in custody until July 26."

Police previously said a 40-year-old Bournemouth woman who was arrested in relation to the case has been released under investigation.
