A BUSINESSMAN allegedly murdered in his home died of shotgun wounds to the torso, an inquest has heard.

Guy Hedger, 61, died following an incident at his property in Castlewood near St Ives in the early hours of Sunday, April 30.

This afternoon, Dorset coroner Rachael Griffin heard emergency services were called to the property by Mr Hedger's husband of 12 years, Simon-Pierre Hedger-Cooper.

Despite the efforts of medical staff, Mr Hedger was pronounced dead on arrival at Poole Hospital.

Mr Hedger-Cooper formally identified his husband's body on May 4.

The inquest has been adjourned until July 24.

Three men were last week charged with murder.

Jason Baccus, 41, and Scott Keeping, 44, both of Verney Close in West Howe, and Kevin Downton, 40, of Winterborne Stickland near Blandford, appeared before Poole Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

The defendants were remanded into custody and will appear before a judge at Winchester Crown Court tomorrow, Tuesday, for a preliminary hearing.
