Police have released CCTV images of three men they would like to speak to in connection with the use of counterfeit notes in Shaftesbury.
Police received reports that counterfeit £50 notes had been used in the petrol station at the Tesco supermarket and in the Subway store at Ivy Cross on Monday, February 20.
At around 6pm three men entered the Subway store and each of them purchased items of small value with a £50 note.
The notes were later found to be counterfeit and had the same serial number.
Around an hour later, a number of men entered the Tesco petrol station and again used counterfeit £50 notes to purchase low value items or asked directly for change.
Police Constable Pat McLoughlin, of North Dorset police, said: “I would appeal to anyone who recognises them or who has any further information to please contact me.”
