Winton: Vandals smashed the windscreen of a white Skoda sometime between 6.30pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday, February 19. Corfe Mullen: A homeowner was targeted during an attempted distraction burglary on Monday, February 20. Police are calling for anyone with information to come forward after the incident, which took place at a property in Blandford Road at around 3.15pm. A man knocked on the door to ask if the homeowner would like the gutters to be cleaned. The offer was declined. Around five minutes later, a second man came to the door to say he had lost his dog. The man asked if he could look in the homeowner’s garden and insisted the resident go with him to look for the dog. However, the homeowner declined to join the search. While the second male was looking around the back garden, another man attempted to open the front door. The door was locked and the man didn’t manage to get inside the property.
